Hopkins, Mordecai L.
Hopkins, from Millpoint, Ottawa County (Mich.) was a married Senator from the 23rd District Ottawa County (Mich.), 1855-1856. No further information is available on him. (Information from Michigan Biographies v. 1.) William H. Drake served in Company A, 3rd Michigan Infantry. He was discharged for disability at Washington, D.C., on Jan. 13, 1863 at age 28. (For further information see the regimental history.) Worden (1822- ) was born in New York (State) and came to Michigan in 1844. He served as a Representative from Ionia County, 1848. In 1853 he was appointed Chief Contractor with the Post Office Dept. for Mich., Wis., and Minn. Worden became Chief of the Bureau. At the beinning of Pres. Lincoln's Administration, he was named a Special Agent of the Dept. Worden co-published the Chicago Times. Eventually, he sold his share and retired to his farm in Grand Rapids.
