Detroit Councilman Wierzbicki served on the City Council from 1962-1965 and 1968-1973.

Detroit City Councilman Anthony J. Wierzbicki was born on November 25, 1917 to Joseph and Margaret Wierzbicki. His parents were Polish immigrants who settled on Detroit's southwest side. Joseph worked as a laborer at various factories in the city. Anthony Wierzbicki went to Holy Redeemer Holy School, graduating in 1935, and began working for the City of Detroit one year later. He attended the University of Detroit, majoring in accounting, and received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in 1941. He studied Public Administration at Wayne University Graduate School. By the time of his first election to the Detroit Common Council in 1961, Mr. Wierzbiki was working as chief governmental analyst in the Detroit Budget Bureau. He served as a councilman from 1962 to 1965 and again from 1968 to 1973. At that time he resigned his post on the City Council to accept the position of Deputy Auditor General for the City of Detroit, which he held for the next three years. Mr. Wierzbicki was married to the former Anna Glaza and they had seven children. Mrs. Wierzbicki died in 1970. In 1981, Mr. Wierzbicki moved to Manistee, Michigan with his second wife, Marie. He died there on January 25, 1992.
