Daw, Henry, 1795-1864.
Born at Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Conn., 23 June 1795; settled in Black Rock in 1816, where he worked as a blacksmith, providing the iron work for the steamers Walk-in-the-Water and Superior. Eventually, he moved to Buffalo, where he established as a ship chandler and grocer, and later as a commission merchant.
