Carpentier, Horace W., 1824-1918
Variant namesHorace W. Carpentier was born in 1824. He was one of the first Mayors of Oakland, a California Assemblyman of 1853, and once owned great land holdings in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. He built the first schoolhouse in Oakland.
