Hanks, Charles Stedman, 1856-1908
Variant namesCaptain Charles F. Hanks, Jr. served with the 51st Field Artillery and 6th Division General Staff Corps in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. He was discharged from the Army on 7 December 1945.

Charles Stedman Hanks was a Massachusetts lawyer and author. He wrote on diverse subjects, including law, camping, and golf, sometimes using the pseudonym Niblick. He was also among the first to introduce Borzoi to America, returning from a trip to St. Petersburg with several of the dogs, which he later bred and registered.
