Member and officer, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Tennessee Division, Mary Frances Hughes Chapter (later Felix K. Zollicoffer Chapter); served as Recorder of the Cross (1936-1937) and State Historian (1939-1943, 1945) for the Tennessee Division; wrote the official history of the UDC in Tennessee (1947).
