H. T. (Harris Tinker) Poe (1856-1931) was secretary, superintendent, and treasurer of the Greenville Gas and Electric Light and Power Company; general superintendent of the Greenville Traction Company; superintendent of the Paris Mountain Water Company; secretary of the F. W. Poe Manufacturing Company; and an agent for the South Carolina Railway Company. His son, Harry Tinker Poe, Jr., (1882-1942) graduated from Clemson College in 1902, worked as an engineer for the J. E. Sirrine Company, and from 1937-1940 was Senior Engineer for the Santee-Cooper Power and Navigation Project. Isadora R. Poe was the daughter of H. T. Poe.
