Leslie, Caird, 1899-1970
Variant namesBallet dancer and teacher, Caird Leslie was born in Des Moines, Iowa ca. 1900 and died in New York City February 8,1970. He was raised in Seattle and returned there to teach at the Cornish School from 1935-1950. He had a longtime association with Adolf Bolm for whom he danced at the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in “Petrouchka.” Caird Leslie founded the Ballet Center Studio in New York City.
