Jonas Mason (1708-1801) was the son of John Mason (1676-1738) and Elizabeth Spring Mason (1675- ). He married Mary Chandler (1704-1787) of Duxbury, Mass., and settled in North Yarmouth, Me., becoming deacon of the First Church for sixty-three years, a leader in town affairs, judge for the County Court of Common Pleas, and land conveyor in North Yarmouth and New Gloucester, Me.
