Lewis Family
Emma C. Lewis, wife of John R. Lewis, was born in England in 1848. She married John R. Lewis in Portland, Maine. They moved to Colorado about 1880. Emma had 4 children, John Henry Lewis, b. 1868 (in 1893, John married Retta Hawkey, she died in 1894); Charles Robert Lewis, b. 1871; Walter Mayo Lewis, b. 1876; and Esther Clara Lewis, b. 1881. Esther married Charles Herzog, 1907, moved to Telluride, had a son Charles Lewis Herzog, 1909. In 1910 they moved to Parker, Colorado. Charles died in 1939. In 1945 Esther married Strafford Tallman. He died in 1967. Esther died in 1945.
