Floyd, Carlisle Sessions, 1904-1988.
Carlisle Sessions Floyd was a Methodist minister who ministered to churches in Holly Hill (Orangeburg County, S.C.) and Latta (Dillon County, S.C.), elsewhere around South Carolina and in Asheville, N.C; retired in 1971 and moved to Eutawville (Orangeburg County, S.C.); husband of Ida Floyd (d. 1981), and father of opera composer and librettist, Carlisle Floyd (b.1926).
