Quakers of Delaware and southern Chester County (Pa.), particularly members of the Bye, Jenkinson, Passmore, Speakman, and Smith families.

E. Mortimer Bye, son of Amos and Deborah Paxson Bye of East Nottingham, was born in 1818. He married Phebe Pusey, daughter of Andrew Moore and Judith Wilson Passmore in 1843. E. Mortimer was a schoolteacher and mineralogist who made money in quarrying and in mining chrome. His eldest son, Pusey Passmore Bye, was born in 1846, and married Caroline, daughter of Thomas Harlan and Anna Jenkinson Speakman of Philadelphia in 1872.
