The first constitution of Associated Students was drafted and approved in 1920. This constitution calls for a president, vice president, treasurer, and student council which will be elected by the student body in order “to oversee matters of general importance to the students.” In 1950, ASUNM adopted a constitution which provided for the establishment of a Student Senate and a Student Court, in addition to the Student Council and officers established by the 1920 document.
