Thompson, George E., 1910-1989.
George E. Thompson was born on May 3, 1910. In 1930 he became personal private secretary and general assistant to industrialist Pierre S. du Pont. After du Pont's death in 1954 he became the first business administrator of du Pont's Longwood Gardens. He retired in 1972 and died on July 30, 1989.
