Arthur Draper was born in New York in 1909 and enlisted in the Army in Albany, N.Y. in 1942. At the time of enlistment he was married and working in a professional capacity. Draper joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. where he was assigned to Company D of the 86th Infantry Regiment, later with the Headquarters of the 3rd Battalion Medical Division of the 86th Infantry. While serving in Italy, he received two Bronze Star medals for his actions at Mount Della Torracia and in the Apennine Mountains and Po River Valley in February and April 1945. Draper attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He died in 1975.
