Indiana University, Bloomington. Dept. of Philosophy.

Hide Profile

Though philosophy had been taught as part of the curriculum since the University’s founding in 1820, an independent Department of Philosophy was not officially established until 1929. Prior to 1929, philosophy was often taught in conjunction with, and often overshadowed by, psychology. Today the graduate program is nationally recognized for research excellence, and students can also earn an undergraduate degree or minor in philosophy or choose one of four interdepartmental majors.
