Lawyer and writer, Goldenweiser (Alekseĭ Aleksandrovich Gold́enveĭzer) was born in Kiev, emigrated to Germany in the early 1920s, and then to the United States in the late 1930s. He served as legal counsellor for the Union of Russian Jews in Germany and later as President of the Association of Russian Lawyers in New York.
