Variant namesThe Great Nemaha Subagency was established in 1837 for the Iowa Indians and the Sauk and Fox Indians of the Missouri located on the border of southeastern Nebraska and northeastern Kansas along the Great Nemaha River.
In 1851 the subagency was assigned to the Central Superintendency and given full agency status.
