Cuba Sugar Finance and Export Corporation.

Hide Profile

In 1921, the Cuban government organized the Sugar Finance Committee to expedite the sale of that year's sugar harvest after the collapse of the international sugar market. The Cuba Sugar Finance and Export Corporation was created by the Committee as a business company to handle market transactions. Of the 10,000 shares originally issued for the company exactly one half were owned by the Czarnikow-Rionda Company or allied interests. The corporation was based in Cuba, but the records contained in the Braga Brothers Collection formed part of the Corporation's New York office files.
