Daughters of the American Revolution. Red River Valley Chapter (Grand Forks, N.D.)

Hide Profile

The Red River Valley Chapter of Grand Forks DAR, named after the Red River of the North, was organized May 3, 1920, at the home of Mrs. Thomas Kane, wife of the President of the University of North Dakota, with 26 chartered members. For the first several years, the Chapter was very active. By 1934, the Chapter reported their membership down, but enthusiasm was high, and all DAR functions were carried out. The Chapter gave parties for each of the Naturalization classes of the night schools and hosted the state DAR conference in 1925 and in 1932. The Chapter disbanded in 1943.
