Joseph Horace Faull attended Victoria College, University of Toronto until 1901 when he came to Harvard (Ph. D.: 1904) as an Austin Fellow working in mycology under Professor Roland Thaxter. He returned to a professorship at the University of Toronto where he remained until 1928 when he came to Harvard as a Professor of Forest Pathology. Faull's primary areas of research were fir and spruce rusts, Phacidium blight, lilac diseases, conifer needle-cast diseases and a problem in white pine propagation.
