The Minnesota Archaeological Society (MAS) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and study of archaeological resources in the Upper Midwest. It was established in September 1932 to inform the public on archaeological matters through regular meetings and the publication of reports and studies, and to promote the study of archaeology, anthropology, and ethnology. Its primary focus was on Minnesota's prehistoric past, and the early history of the Upper Midwest. Membership was open to amateur and professional archaeologists, anthropologists, and anyone else interested in these disciplines and in the work of the Society. The MAS published a quarterly journal entitled Minnesota Archaeologist . The Society, together with the Council for Minnesota Archaeology, developed and implemented a certification program for amateur archaeologists that became operational in 1977.

The Society's headquarters and museum were at one time located in the Walker Art Gallery, Minneapolis. The organization was later based at the Fort Snelling History Center, St. Paul.
