In 1994 the San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs conducted a survey of outdoor sculptures in Santa Clara County for preservation and conservation purposes.
The Office used Save Outdoor Sculpture! (SOS!) techniques for this survey. The SOS! was created by the National Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Property to promote the conservation and preservation of outdoor sculptures around the nation.
