Wightman, William J.
William J. Wightman was manager of the Whipple and Sawyer (later Whipple and Hay) Ranch on the Laramie River in Wyoming. Wightman worked for the company from the latter 1870s to the fall of 1895, when, after a bad winter which depleted the stock, he returned to his previous home in Vermont. His wife, Libbie, had also worked for the Sawyers before their marriage in 1882. They had a daughter, Jessie, born in 1884.
