Frederick Edward Bury was a United States (U.S.) Army officer. He was a private, 31st Michigan Infantry Regiment; lieutenant, 38th U.S. Volunteer Infantry Regiment; lieutenant, 1st and 23rd U.S. Infantry Regiments; major, staff duty at Fort Benjamin Harrison and with the 155th Depot Brigade; lieutenant colonel, headquarters staff, Second (2nd) Army; and chief of staff, American Expeditionary Force (AEF) to northern Russia.
