The Fresh Painters were a musical comedy troupe at the University of Cincinnati between 1923 and 1938. "Fresh Paint," the first production of the group in 1923, was written, produced, and performed by UC students. Each subsequent production over the next 15 years was also completely written and run by UC students. The themes of the plays were usually requited love or centered around campus life. One member of the troupe, Libby Holman, went on to a notorious Broadway career.
