Soldier, banker, industrialist with Oglebay Norton Company, Ohio state legislator and Cleveland civic and cultural leader; served as private secretary to Ambassador Myron T. Herrick and president of the Western Reserve Historical Society, 1934-1960. Norton had a deep interest in the arts and history, and like his brother, Robert, was an avid collector of autographs.
