South Carolina. Militia. Brigade, 4th.
Reorganized in December 1819, the 4th Brigade of the South Carolina Militia consisted of the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th Regiments. Colonel Robert Y. Hayne commanded the Brigade during the 1820s and later became governor of South Carolina. Charles W. Graves was an alarm man with the 3rd Company of one of the Regiments.
