Wilbur Carson Sensing, 1901-1984, was born in Dickson County, Tenn. He attended Montgomery Bell Academy and graduated with a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1923. He was chairman of the board of Enco Materials, a distributor of reinforcing steel and construction materials. In 1944 he became president of the Nashville Engineering Association and in 1949 he was president of the local chapter of the Association for the Society of Civil Engineers. He was also one of the founders of the Home Federal Savings and Loan Association.
