Babcock, George R., 1806-1876.
Born in Gorham, Ontario County, N.Y. on 20 Sept. 1806; came to Buffalo in 1824. Studied law with Heman B. Potter and, after being admitted to the bar, practiced in Buffalo with various partners. He was elected a member of assembly in 1845, and served two terms in the state senate, 1850-1854.
