Dartmouth College. Faculty.
"Executive government" was the name of the governing faculty body in 1815. By 1828, simply "Faculty" was used to the designate the faculty body. By 1840, standing committees of the faculty were created to respond to questions of organization, administration, and instruction. In 1953 the faculty was reorganized, and an executive committee established.
