English's Opera House was constructed by William H. English for his son, William E., on the Circle in Indianapolis in 1880. A new theater building was erected in the same vicinity of the Circle in 1897. It was used for plays, operas, movies, and civic functions. By 1930 the name had changed to the English Theatre. The structure was demolished in 1948.
