William D. Turkington was born in 1893. He was graduated from Asbury College in 1923, and next attended Princeton Theological Seminary where he received the Th. B. degree in 1928. From 1927-1940 he served as professor of New Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary. From 1940-1943 he served on the faculty of Asbury College as chairman of the department of Philosophy and Religion. In 1943 he returned to the Seminary and resumed his former position. In 1946 he was elected Dean of the Seminary and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1963. He died in 1964.
