D'Utassy, Frederick George.

Colonel and commanding officer of the "Garibaldi Guard", 39th Infantry, New York Volunteers. "Count" D'Utassy, as he styled himself in New York society, raised this group of foreign nationals to fight for the Union and was court-martialed for incompetency as a soldier in 1863.
