Edith Windsor Zoltan (née Edith Charlotte Parnell) graduated from Radcliffe College in 1949. She was born in the Panama Canal Zone and was raised by her aunt and uncle in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, following the death of her mother. Later in life she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital, the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, and the Internal Revenue Service.
