Royal Odonto-chirurgical Society of Scotland
The Society was founded in 1867, although it first proposed two years earlier by John Smith, who submitted a code of rules for the practice of ethical dentistry and the creation of a society. Smith’s draft laws and constitution were adopted when the society was founded under Robert Naysmith, its first president. It is the oldest dental society in the United Kingdom.
