Hardy L. Brian (1865-1949) was born near Pollock, La., and married Eugenia Ella Dickerson on October 7, 1886. He was Louisiana state representative for Winn Parish between 1892 and 1896, belonging to the Populist Party. Brian later owned and edited weekly newspapers in Winnfield and Natchitoches Parish. He moved permanently to Shreveport in 1924 and wrote religious articles and books and conducted a Bible study class in the later years of his life.
