United Nations Conference on Human Settlements
Variant namesHabitat is the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements, held in Vanvouver 1976; Habitat is an outgrowth of the UN Conference on The Human Environment held in Stockholm in june 1972 where it became apparent that urgent action was needed to meet the growing complexity of human settlement problems around the globe; main purposes of the Conference where the exchange of experience, the creation of financial resources and the formulation for an international program which would assist governments.
