Leonard Wheeler, Jr.

Leonard Wheeler, Jr. was born in 1901 in Worcester, Massachusetts and graduated from both Harvard College and Harvard Law School, where he was editor of the Law Review for two years. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, and later as Assistant Trial Counsel during the Nuremberg trials of Nazi war criminals. In addition to processing war-related documents in the London office of the OCC (Office of Chief of Counsel), Wheeler was also responsible for preparing several reports used in the trial, such as "Suppression of the Christian Churches in Germany and in the Occupied Territories" (3-1). He was a member and partner in the Boston firm of Goodwin, Procter from 1925 until his 1971 retirement in addition to serving in the leadership of several nonprofit organizations. Wheeler died in 1995.
