Dr. Jasper Adams and his second wife, Placidia Mayrant; graduated Yale College, 1841; taught at Pendleton and Sumter, S.C., and studied law; married, 1853, Isabel McDonald; after his marriage resided at St. Mary's, Georgia; d. 15 Mar. 1884; nephew of Rev. Sewall Harding; Adams' father, Dr. J. Adams and his uncle, Rev. Harding, married sisters Mercy and Eliza Wheeler.
