Caroline "Dollie" Maitland was born in Worcester on Dec. 3, 1858; attended Queens College, London; applied herself to poetry and politics; married Ernest Radford in 1883; became a Fabian like her husband and moved in socialist circles; works include A light load (1891), Songs for somebody (1893), Good night (1895), and Songs and other verse (1895); Dollie and Ernest Radford's circle of friends included John Lane, H.G. Wells, D.H. Lawrence, Ezra Pound, and Richard Aldington; died on Feb. 7, 1920.
