MacDuffie, Abbie Parsons, 1860-
Abby Parsons was a member of the first class at Radcliffe. She was born in 1860 and attended the "Harvard Annex" from 1879 to 1883. She taught at Prospect Hill School in Greenfield, Massachusetts. In 1886 she married John MacDuffie, and in 1888 they founded the MacDuffie School for Girls in Springfield, Massachusetts. She was active in the local suffrage movement and served as the first president of the Springfield League of Women Voters. She retired from teaching in 1936 and died in 1937.
