Charitable organization formed in 1963 to provide good used clothing to poor people in Addison County, Vt. When the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity was established the two worked together, providing space for the collection, storage, and distribution of used clothing and the volunteers collecting and mending it, and sometimes staffing the Clothes Room. The volunteers took on additional projects to improve the lot of the poor, including working with teachers, Headstart, and churches; the Christmas Room to distribute presents; emergency funds; and a food shelf.
