The Contact Mines Corporation was incorporated under Delaware law in 1936. President and superintendent was C.J. Hansen of Philipsburg, Montana, and secretary-treasurer was William Hakala. The corporation leased the Silver Prince mine near Philipsburg and produced about 60 tons of silver-lead-zinc ore per day. During World War II the company leased the Scratch Awl Mine to produce manganese ore.
