Ford Motor Company. Manufacturing Division.

Hide Profile

After World War II, Ford Motor Company underwent a company-wide reorganization and modernized the company's administration and operations. Established in 1946, the Manufacturing Services Department represents this shift towards decentralized divisions. Manufacturing Services coordinated non-production departments such as Scheduling and Distribution; Industrial Engineering; Plant Engineering; Purchasing Engineering; Traffic, General Maintenance; Transportation; and Power for the manufacturing divisions. Prior to World War II, many of these functions were managed through single administrative departments covering the entire company.
