DeWitt C. Reddick (1904-1980) earned his bachelor's in 1925 and master's in 1928 from the University of Texas.

He began his reporting career with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and the Austin American-Statesman in 1924. He became an instructor in UT's Department of Journalism in 1927 and served as director of the School of Journalism from 1959 to 1964. Reddick wrote or co-authored many books, including Journalism and the School Paper (1938), Modern Feature Writing (1949), and Industrial Editing (1962).
