Reed, George W., 1833-1909.
George W. Reed was born in London, England, on 7 April 1833. He emigrated to Utah in 1862 and became manager of the Deseret News . He left that position to found the Salt Lake Tribune in 1871. Reed stayed with this paper until he sold his interest to P. H. Lannan in 1882. He married Elizabeth Tuddenham in 1866 and passed away 1 December 1909.
