Bliss, Jesse C., 1833-1911.
2nd Lieutenant, 44th Illinois Infantry. Bliss enlisted in 1861 and served until 1864. He served in various locations in Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia, participating in the battles of Pea Ridge, Perryville, and Murfreesboro. Postwar residence in Little Rock, Arkansas where his granddaughter, Jesse Elizabeth Hill, married Spanish-American War veteran Joseph J. Durrett in 1908.
