The Physical Planning Office is one of several branches that together comprise the Department of Facilities at Princeton University. Working in conjunction with the Office of the University Architect, the Office of Physical Planning coordinates and participates in architectural developments; manages construction of major new structures and alterations to existing structures; and oversees interior design and furniture planning. Other services supervised by the Physical Planning Office include graphics and landscape design. In 2004 with the number of major campus building projects on the rise, the Facilities Department was reorganized and the Physical Planning Office became known as the Office of Design and Construction, however its responsibilities remained the same.
