Baptist minister, educator.
Pratt attended Hamilton Literary and Theological Institution (later Colgate University) in 1838. He spent 1839 to 1845 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and was pastor of the First Baptist Church, in Lexington, Kentucky from 1845 to 1863. While in Lexington, Pratt served as school commissioner, operated a private school, and had charge of the Sunday School and book division of the Baptist Church. He also spent time in Louisville and Shelbyville, Kentucky.
